This
book is a compilation of articles and columns that I have written
over the last few years with new chapters updating the most
significant changes in the industry since my book, Spring Training:
A Supplementary Guide to Mattress Sales was published in 2000.
I had not planned on writing another book about mattresses,
because Spring Training is as current today as it was back then.
It continues to sell not only in this country but also in many
others as well. Several things motivated me to take on this
project.
First of all, many people have asked me to let them know if
I ever wrote another book. I therefore assumed that they were
interested.
Also,
each time one of my articles or columns appears in a trade magazine,
I get numerous calls from people saying how much they like it.
Recently a gentleman called to say that my article on Effective
Sales Training was the best writing on the subject he had ever
read in the twenty plus years he had been in the business. When
queried, I found the he and many, if not most others that call
have never seen any of my other works, nor are aware of Spring
Training. So I decided to heavily promote it in this book. (If
you already own a copy, just ignore all the shameless plugs.)
I
know from experience that the ideas in this book can help you
sell more mattresses.
